Fly Fishing For Mahseer
Ancient spirits beckon you, the fly angler, to India, to experience fly fishing nirvana in quest of the mighty mahseer. Reputed to be the most powerful freshwater gamefish in the world, mahseer inhabit the lower warmer stretches of Himalayan rivers, as well as the rivers of central and southern India. They like to hold, in heavy current around large boulders, in the deepest calmest stretches, or anywhere in between. The larger your fly, the more effective it will be. Once hooked, having a boat to help deal with their size and power is a necessity. Exspect fish up to 15 lbs., much bigger fish are possible but difficult to land.
