Fly Fishing For Nile Perch
Pharaoh commands you, the fly angler, to Africa, to battle the monster, Nile perch. As their name suggests, Nile perch inhabit the Nile river and its reservoirs throughout Africa. They are the largest freshwater gamefish in the World, up to 400 lbs.!! Lake fish grow larger than their river cousins. Like largemouth bass, they spend a certain time of the year in the shallows where they are vulnerable to the fly, the bigger your fly, the better. They prefer to hold in and around gravel, rocks, and boulders, so once hooked, if you can keep them out of the rocks, they will reward you with a strong fight complete with tail walking jumps. Expect them to average 10-20 lbs., you might hook one 100 lbs.+.
